I’ve just returned from a stimulating conference regarding soils and trees.
We know more about the planets in our solar system than what is beneath our feet!
Compaction and soil erosion (from machinery and over population from people and animals) are key to damaging the life giving soil beneath us.
Things won’t grow if the conditions aren’t right. Bear this in mind when you garden, as well as tree plant.
Having a vision for the future to enjoy like this tree by Exeter Cathedral is more of a challenge than ever, but one that we can over come if we consider things properly.
The take home message is that we must educate ourselves about things below ground as well as above it.
